除了 at will 之外，「free to」的說法也很常聽到，不過用 free to 要小心，因為 free to 有時候會被解釋為免費去做某事，例如 free to eat 可以被解讀為隨意吃或免費吃，會是哪一種解釋就要看當時的情境了，例如某家餐廳推出了某項優惠活動，只要在活動的規則內就能 free to eat 一道餐廳提供的餐點，這種情況就會被解讀為免費吃，如果是＂We should not free to open others email.＂就會被解讀為＂我們不應該隨意打開別人的電子郵件＂這樣。
除了以上所說的之外，as one pleases 與 as you wish 也是日常口語上常說的＂隨意＂用法，as one pleases 有隨意或隨便的意思，有點像中文說的你喜歡就好、聽你的或髓你高興，而 as you wish 直接翻譯是如你所願，在句子中常用來表示隨你意願 ...，例如＂You may eat as you wish.＂這句的意思是你可以根據你的意願吃，其實就是＂你可以隨意吃＂的意思。
